AS/400 Backup fails after PTF SI25847/SI28359 (V5R3) or SI25919/SI28674 (V5R4) was installed

Symptoms:

After installing PTF SI25847/SI28359 on V5R3 or SI25919/SI28674 on V5R4, a message similar to the following appears in the backup log.

NONE-E-0003 ThreadApi sent status code 4 (Error in Restore Api). Review prior messages.

OPSY-E-0003 Unexpected condition with exit program using QaneRsta API. Reason 99.

DISK-W-0002 Error 3029 trying to lock mutex

DISK-E-0003 Error writing data, ThreadApi is no longer in open status.

DISK-F-0052 error closing file /QSYS.LIB/MAIN.LIB/OBJECTS2.FILE/OBJECTS.MBR, ThreadApi failed to close

The JOBLOG will contain a message similar to:

MCH0601 Escape 40

Message . . . . : Space offset X'003F03DF' or X'0000000000000000' is outside

current limit for object &1.

CEE9901 Escape 30

Message . . . . : Application error. MCH0601 unmonitored by RSTEXTPGM at

statement 0000000082, instruction X'0000'.

Cause:

The PTF alters the data length in an API the EVault Agent for iSeries uses.

Workaround:

If the PTF is still temporary, remove the PTF. If it is permanent, contact EVault Technical Support.

Upgrade to agent higher than 5.32.

EVault is investigating the issue
